What, Trucker uses up all of his bile in one final gasp of dumbassery and turns all polite now?

Nilzy seems more like a sock puppet of Kuni. ***grin***

Kuni, we broke Truckertom it seems. Start just after your last comment, where he reacts to my comic.

  2. kuniakiraka says:

Yay I gots me a Sock puppet!
“I will love him and squeeze him and hug him. I will call him George.” – The Abominable Snowman LOL

  3. tokker says:

Is anyone watching the big joint session speech Obama is making today? Well…now really.

  4. Griz says:

    Tokker,

    Why would I bother?

I don’t need to drink the kool-aid to know it’s got that nice bitter-almondy goodness!

  5. kuniakiraka says:

To find out first hand what Obama actually said or meant, without any “spin” perhaps. It’s not necessarily the same thing as having someone regurgitate it for you, you know.

  6. tokker says:

What’s the harm in listening? Even if you oppose someone you can’t effectively argue unless you at least listen ti the counter arguement. I’m wondering more what the house and senate leadership have to say as they actually are involved in writing the law.

  7. kuniakiraka says:

Tokker: Griz has made it perfectly clear (to me at least) that “listen to (sic) the counter argument (sic)” is not a priority of his.

  8. tokker says:

Perhaps. Maybe he reads your argument and just disagrees.

For future reference, if you put (sic) it means you left in the typos:
“listen ti the counter arguement [sic]”
    What you wanted is probably:
“[to] listen [to] the counter [argument]”
or just correct them, correcting typos isn’t inappropriate in a quote and sic is used when they are kept in for a reason such as a intentional misspelling or because the quote has bad grammer and such.

  9. kuniakiraka says:

Oops by bad on the (sic).

I got no problem with Griz disagrees with me (or anyone else for that matter), but the last thread about Ted Kennedy convinced me that disagreeing doesn’t quite cover it.

  10. Griz says:

I don’t bother to listen to Obama because he can’t be trusted. What he says is meaningless.

I pay attention to what he does, not what he says.

I read opinion and analysis from both right- and left-wing sources that I’ve found over the years to have some integrity and coherence.

Oh, and Kuni? When you figure out how to craft an argument without metaphorically skittering around like spit on a hot griddle, then you can fucking complain about my failings.

  11. kuniakiraka says:

As it is only fair, please feel free to complain about my failings Griz. – it’s not like you haven’t already done so.

I’m sure I have some skill at crafting “an argument without metaphorically skittering around like spit on a hot griddle”. I just haven’t beed able to translate it into your particular diatribe.. I mean dialect. I promise to try harder next time.

  12. tokker says:

I kinda thought it was funny how Obama layed out a rosy vision with broad strokes and then basicly said, ‘Here’s what it will be like, but we have a lot of details to work out.’

I mean, we all have a great vision of a semi-utopian future already, Star Trek TNG for instance, but we just need to work out the details, like replicators and warp drive and how to stop the Borg.

  13. kuniakiraka says:

Tokker posted “Obama layed out a rosy vision with broad strokes and then basicly said, ‘Here’s what it will be like, but we have a lot of details to work out.’”

Spoken like a true politician… Say something while actually saying nothing.

Unfortunately our Politicians in Canada are just as concise.

  14. tokker says:

If anyone reads Shortpacked, I think the author is feeling the same as Happa, but from the other side of the aisle:
    http://www.shortpacked.com/d/20090911.html

  15. kuniakiraka says:

I read Shortpacked. Though I think, it Hapa’s case, he’s coming at it from both ends. LOL

I just finished reading “The Manga Bible: From Genesis to Revelations” (isbn 978-0-385-52431-5, http://www.themangabible.com) by Siku and Akinsiku. Quite an interesting read. Being that it’s only 3/4″ thick, it doesn’t take the bible verse by verse as Hapajap’s version is (was). However, “It does not claim to tell all the stories or cover all the teachings of the Bible, but is intended to provide a helpful ‘first steps’; to give you, the reader, a taste of the most important themes and characters, and a basic idea of what it’s all about!”

    Check it out.

I remember the comic people called The Passion of The Liefeld. It’s safe for work but still offends my sensibilities:

Scroll down to “The Passion of The Liefeld”. It’s worth seeing.

here’s another take on how Jesus “deals” with other gods: http://www.graphicsmash.com/comics/brathalla.php?name=brathalla&view=single&ID=15380

Just so it’s not a blind link, let me set it up for you.
This strip takes place just outside the “Pantheon Games” – a sort of Olympics for gods of all cultures.

  18. hapajap says:

HAHAHAHAHAHA…. Holy crap, that Liefeld this is hilarious…

  19. tokker says:

That’s a pretty good one too, kuni.

I came across this one a while back:
    http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/7609/godbb.jpg
It’s God coming to stop Hitler who is apparently in the process of crucifying Jesus in his bunker. For reals.

  20. tokker says:

So, when are we going to get a new comic, hapajap?

  21. hapajap says:

Soon, I promise! Been nutzo busy lately.

That comic isn’t a real comic, it’s something Erik Larsen did as a lark. He’s very irreverent.

  22. tokker says:

I noticed it was very similar to this:
    http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/6184/2374002.jpg

Both were on a site called Superman is a Dick.

  23. tokker says:

    And yes, very irreverent.

  24. kuniakiraka says:

Hapajap: Just saw that side banner for Evolv with the caption: “This bottle can make you healthy. This bottle can make you wealthy. But this bottle cannot make you wise. That’s completely up to you.”

I gotta say that is completely apropriate for your stance on the product and hilarious.
Better yet, it should read, “This bottle can make you healthy. This bottle can make ME wealthy. But this bottle cannot make you wise. That’s completely up to you.” LOL

  25. kuniakiraka says:

Just listened to the Evolv presentation by Trey White and found another red flag.
Trey says that the Evolv business opportunity is in the “Network Marketing industry” – not the food/ nutrition industry (which is what Evolv product is positioned as being in) or the medical supplement industry, but the “Network Marketing industry”.

No harm in pre-enrolling, but watch yourself Hapajap.

  26. tokker says:

He will be doing the marketing, not the producing.

  27. hapajap says:

Well, the PRODUCT is in the food/nutrition industry. The BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY is in the Network Marketing industry.

Come on, Kuni, you can extrapolate better than that.

  28. kuniakiraka says:

Typically, if your product is in the food/ beverage industry and it’s your only product, then your business is in the food/ beverage industry – regardless of your position within that company.

With “The BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY is in the Network Marketing industry”, this means that you are primarily in the business of selling the business oppurtunity (as wholesalers, distributers etc.) and not the product itself. All the stuff you get upon pre-enrolling is geared to selling the business opportunity and not the product itself.

All of this seems a bit like misdirection to me and a lot like a pyramid scheme.

  29. hapajap says:

That’s because you’re pre-disposed to think like that. I’m not going to get into the same argument over and over again, I believe I’ve made my points already.

  30. tokker says:

If a company were to hire me on in their marketing department, my business opportunity (employment) would be in marketing. If I was hired in their operations or R&D departments, it would be in the product development.

  31. UNSCDF1 says:

ugh. when are more comics coming out…
